ELDERS AND DEACONS APPOINTED
August 16, 2009 - After about a year of studying the qualifications, duties, and responsibilities of elders and deacons, the Mangaldan church of Christ finally ordained two elders and four deacons. The ordination ceremony was held immediately after the morning worship last Sunday, August 16, 2009. Two evangelists from the neighboring provinces were invited to speak during the occasion. The worship as well as the ordination ceremony were well-attended as the newly renovated worship hall of the Mangaldan church was filled with standing-room-only with many visitors from other congregations present and witnessed the ceremony.
Appointed elders were Bros. Allan Cacho, and Dominador Sagurit Sr., while Bros. Adriatico Aquino, Rene Cacho, Brumildo Fernandez, and Ricardo Alvarez were selected and appointed as deacons. Bro. Junas Sagurit has been acting as their part-time minister. A video of the ordination is posted here.
The ceremony culminated when both the newly-appointed leaders/servants and the church assembly stood together before God and vowed to work together and support each other for the growth of the church and the fulfillment of His glory. A merienda of pancit and puto with juice was served after the occasion. Below are some of the pictures taken during the occassion.
